In my first year of the ECS program, I had the opportunity to work with a child of 6 years, one on one for the Project Planning Approach - an approach that focused on creating and implementing activities based on a specific inquiry and from observations that branched from each previous activity. It is a theme-like, cumulative approach that I studied while taking a course called Curriculum 2: Program Planning. I visited Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Elementary school, where I implemented a series of activities that were based on a child's inquiry on 'The Ocean'. These activities mainly involved one child's interests, however, activities were implemented within small and large groups, where children assisted the main child that I was working with one-on-one. These activities ranged from various learning centres: Science & Discovery, Creative Arts, Cognitive and Dramatic Play.
