In this activity, the children created their very own pizzas and made a list of their toppings on chart paper. They used shapes to represent their toppings and glued these shapes onto a paper plate which represented their imaginary pizza. The finished plates were then displayed in the classroom bulletin board for all the children to see!

Learning Objectives & Outcomes
"I like olives! They're circles just like our classroom clock!"
The objective of this activity is for the children to use their senses to discriminate properties of foods and representing these foods symbolically. The outcomes of this activity are: the children will able to increasingly use representation of their daily life and interests through play as well as enhance fine motor skills such as through using scissors - cutting and pasting the shapes.
Sections outlined in Early Learning for Every Child Today:

Reflection and Outcome
This activity was great in learning how to regulate and provide materials in simple step-by-step instructions so that children have a clear cut focus. I discussed what shapes to cut, then provided paper and scissors and then handed out glue. This is a very important basis in implementing complex activities!
